Hair Oil Kerastase Elixir Ultime Versatile Beautifying Oil

First, a little history of the brand: Kerastase is a leading professional hair cosmetics, which dates back to 1964. The brand was created within the L'Oréal Paris cosmetics group and was aimed at restoring good hair quality. All Kerastase cosmetics products belong to the "luxury" class and occupy a leading position in the hair cosmetics market all over the world. Kerastase products are manufactured in France and Spain.

Multifunctional oil for all hair types Kerastase Elixir Ultime Versatile Beautifying Oil

Multifunctional hair oilThe oil is in a golden, laconic bottle, nothing superfluous (volume 125 ml.). The bottle is made of plastic, for me it is even better than glass (I had a case when I broke two-phase oil in a glass container on a bath). The dispenser itself is not protected by a lid, but it is well fixed, so you can take it on trips without any problems.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime OilThe consistency of the oil is quite thick, but not sticky in texture, it is perfectly distributed through the hair. Although this is oil, it is unrealistic to overdo it with it, it does not at all grease and does not weigh down the hair, even thin, prone to oily.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oleo-Complexe Versatile Beautifying Oil For All Hair Types

Universal oil for all hair typesOil composition: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicolon, Zea Mays / Corn Germ Oil, Argania spinosa oil / argania spinosa kernel oil, camellia kissi / camellia kissi seed oil, pentaclethra macroloba oil / pentaclethra macroloba seed oil, linalool, alpha-isomethylionin, limonene, alcohol, alcohol parfum / fragrance.

Country of origin - Spain.

In the composition, of course, there are silicones in the first and second places (I have nothing against silicones for length, they thicken my hair well, moisturize, I would even say fill the hair itself and also give shine to the hair as a bonus). And of course there are oils:

Argan oil - a very valuable hair oil, one of the most expensive oils (obtained from the seeds of the argan tree in Morocco and Algeria). It creates a protective film on the hair, restores and gives strength to dry and damaged hair, making it manageable, soft and smooth.

Corn seed oil - although not an expensive oil, it gives excellent nutrition to the hair. The oil helps against dandruff, scalp irritation, split ends, dryness, brittle hair, and is also used as an effective remedy for the growth, shine and strength of curls (you need to start using oil in homemade hair masks).

Camellia oil - this is simply an invaluable hair oil that helps hair retain internal moisture, prevents fragility and split ends, protects hair from environmental pollution, being a natural barrier, heals hair after chemistry and dyeing, and also gives hair instant shine, manageability, smoothness and silkiness (obtained from the camellia flower in Japan, China).

Pracaxi tree oil - The oil is obtained from the seeds of the Pracaxi tree, which grows in the Amazon rainforest. The oil strengthens the hair structure from the inside, and also accelerates the cellular renewal of the hair mother. In Brazil, this oil is very popular, it is considered a natural hair conditioner (improves combing, makes hair smooth and shiny).

The manufacturer claims that the alchemy of these four types of oils creates the perfect hair matter!

I would also like to dwell on the smell, for me it is simply divine (I really love oriental scents). In a word, oriental, sweet, but not sugary-sweet, there is some kind of bitterness, for some reason I associate with Morocco, something mysterious, inaccessible. After application, the smell remains for several hours.

Kerastase multifunctional oil can be used in 4 ways

  1. Before washing your hair: as a preliminary hair cleansing. With the help of the elixir, the remnants of daily styling products are removed. Apply a small amount into the palms of your hands and work over the entire length of your hair. Wash off with a shampoo that suits your hair type.
  2. Before drying hair: Apply as a leave-in conditioner.Apply whenever your hair needs extra nourishment, applying from the middle of the hair to the very ends.
  3. After Drying: Applied to dry hair, the Elixir provides a smoothing effect for light and shiny styling.
  4. As a daily hair care product: great for dry hair that needs extra control and nourishment throughout the day.

I use the oil on wet hair after each wash, before drying my hair (this is the best option for my thin hair) and rub another drop of oil in my palms and apply it on dry hair as the final stage of styling for shine. Literally after the first application, I noticed that the hair became silky and friable to the touch, it became easier to comb, and the dryness of the ends decreased. I especially noticed the effect from it in the summer, it just became the savior of my dry, porous hair.

What the oil gives in the end:

  • does not make hair heavier (useful for thin, oily hair);
  • hair is easier to comb (good for curly hair that tends to tangle);
  • removes hair frizz (in rainy weather it helps to maintain styling as much as possible);
  • hair becomes light, obedient to the touch, well-groomed, you want to constantly touch it (well, who doesn't like it?);
  • more well-groomed hair ends, less splitting (prolongs the trip to the hairdresser);
  • makes hair smooth (straightens curly hair a little);
  • quite economical (I have been using it for more than a year and has not yet ended);
  • gives hair an instant shine!

The disadvantage for me is that the oil straightens my curls a little and at the same time the volume disappears, but I have already adapted how to use it.

My dry, porous hair is just made for products like hair oil.
