Essential oils: properties, characteristics and effects on hair

Properties of essential oils

Essential oils are volatile mixtures of substances obtained from special plants. They have transparent, yellow, brown, green or red shades. Their difference is rich aroma and bitter taste. They got their name because of their volatility and similarity to bold textures.

Essential substances have a strong effect on the body. Depending on the chemical composition, the following types of essential oils can be distinguished:

  • antiseptic;
  • soothing;
  • anti-inflammatory;
  • deodorant;
  • antivirus.

Types of essential oils

The substance extracted from the essential oil plant is insoluble in water, but soluble in alcohol, aromatic compounds and ketones. In turn, it dissolves rubber, grease, wax and resins. The properties of essential oils are influenced by external exposure to light, moisture and air. Therefore, they must be stored in a dark glass container with a sealed lid, away from sources of ignition.

What problems do essential oils solve?

Essential oils are widely used in cosmetology, including hair care. However, you should be careful when using, as some species can cause allergies. When several substances are mixed, their properties are enhanced.

      From your comment, it is difficult to advise anything. Hair loss after childbirth is a normal natural phenomenon. But, if the loss is intense and for a long time, it is worthwhile to first find out the cause. You need to pass tests and consult a dermatologist or trichologist, and he will already prescribe specific drugs (vitamins) and external measures to strengthen the hair.

    Oddly enough, I have never tried essential oils for hair. What should you start your acquaintance with?

      If for hair, try orange oil, it works for both length and scalp. If you want to strengthen your hair, you can try rosemary or bay essential oil.
