Grape seed oil for hair: properties, application, masks and reviews

Since ancient times, grape seed oil has been considered a very valuable medicinal, food and cosmetic product. The main oil producers are Italy, France, Spain, Argentina, that is, those countries in which winemaking is flourishing. Oil is obtained from grape seeds by two methods - hot extraction and cold pressing (pressing).

The oil obtained by cold pressing is considered to be more valuable, because then the maximum of minerals, vitamins and various biologically active substances is retained in the oil. And during hot extraction, the oil is exposed to high temperatures, therefore, it loses a significant part of the nutrients, but the oil yield is much higher, and therefore manufacturers are inclined towards this method.

Hair masks

Masks with grape seed oil can be applied both to the length of the hair and to the scalp. Make the mask just before applying it, because some components quickly lose their properties. All home masks should be done in courses of 10-15 procedures, only then you can see the result. And all home masks need to be insulated, so they will work better.

Do homemade masks 1-2 times a week.

  • 2 tbsp. tablespoons of grape seed oil;
  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of honey;
  • 5 drops of vitamins A and E in oil;
  • 5-8 drops of peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil.

  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of pink or blue clay;
  • decoction of chamomile (to dilute the clay);
  • 2-3 ampoules of aloe juice;
  • 5-8 drops of bay or rosemary essential oil.

First, you need to dilute the clay with a decoction of chamomile to a thick porridge, then add the remaining ingredients to the mask. The mask is applied only to the scalp along the partings, it should be insulated and held for 30-40 minutes, and then wash your hair and be sure to apply a mask or conditioner to the length of the hair.

Hair loss mask

  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of grape seed oil;
  • 2 tbsp. tablespoons of capsicum tincture;
  • 5-8 drops of essential oil.

Mix all the components of the mask (grape seed oil can be heated in a water bath) and apply to the scalp along the partings, without affecting the length. Insulate the mask and keep it for 40-60 minutes. Then wash your hair as usual.

Dandruff mask

  • 5 drops of vitamins A and E in oil;

Moisturizing hair mask

  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of grape seed oil;
  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of jojoba oil;
  • 5-8 drops of ylang-ylang essential oil.

Mix all oils and apply only to the length of the hair, stepping back from the roots. The mask must be well insulated, you can warm it up with a hairdryer and keep it for at least one hour (you can leave it overnight). And then you need to rinse your hair well with shampoo.

Nourishing mask

  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of brandy;
  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of grape seed oil;
  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of honey;
  • 1 egg yolk.

Apply the mask first to the scalp, and then distribute it along the length of the hair. Try to keep your hair free of foam, varnish and other styling products before applying the mask. The mask needs to be insulated: wrap it with plastic wrap and insulate it with a woolen hat, keep it somewhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour, then wash your head with two washings of shampoo and apply a light moisturizing conditioner.

Initially, I bought grape seed oil for the face, I read a lot of information that it is suitable for the care of skin prone to oily. The oil moisturizes well, tones the skin, makes it smoother and softer, and it does not clog pores like many other oils. But then I started to use it for hair care, first for the scalp, and then for the length, it gives shine to the hair, does not overload it, does not weigh it down and promotes growth.

Olga

My grape seed oil is practically odorless, so I suspect that it is refined and hot processed, although I bought it at the pharmacy. Therefore, I decided not to apply it to the scalp, but only to the length. I just heat up the oil and apply it on the hair, stepping back from the roots. I warm it up and walk as long as possible, and then wash my head, but you need to wash it very carefully, because the oil is not easy to wash off. I will say a few more words about the result: the hair has not changed significantly, but it has become softer, nourished and does not break off. Oh, and I forgot, they stopped electrifying, in winter I have a problem with this.

Masha

I don’t know if the oil has any effect on hair growth, as there is no scientifically proven evidence of this. But, I know that many people use this oil specifically for hair growth, in principle, grape seed oil can be applied to the scalp, because it does not forget the pores, but I still trust more ready-made special products for hair growth, for example, ampoules, serums or tonic.

Advice

Buy oil, and not just grape seed, in dark glass bottles.

When buying oil, look at the production date and storage lines.

If the oil has sediment, this does not mean that it is of poor quality.

Always buy a little unrefined and cold pressed.

    I use this oil in facial care, once a week I apply it as a mask (I have combination skin). I can say that the oil does not clog pores and perfectly moisturizes dry areas. And after your article I decided to try to make hair masks. I just want to grow my hair.

      If you have an insensitive scalp, you can try a capsicum tincture mask.

    I have oily hair and this oil worked well for me in hair care, but I like it more for the scalp than for the length.
