Jojoba Oil: The healthiest oil for hair. Properties, methods of using oil, recipes and reviews

Jojoba oil is found in various products for hair, skin and nails, which suggests that the oil is indispensable in cosmetology. Although the beauty industry calls it oil, jojoba is a wax full of fatty acids that is organically close to human skin. After processing, jojoba oil is lightweight and non-comedogenic, making it a popular choice for cosmetics and moisturizers.

Unrefined jojoba oil in liquid form has a clear golden color (at room temperature), with a hint of nutty smell, while the refined oil is colorless and odorless.

Jojoba oil is made from a herb that grows in the middle of the desert (USA, Egypt, Israel, Mexico). Unlike many other vegetable oils, such as grape oil or coconut oil, jojoba oil has a longer shelf life because it contains fewer triglycerides. It also has an oxidative stability index of 60, making it more shelf stable than canola oil, sunflower oil, almond or macadamia oil. The fatty acid composition of jojoba oil tends to vary significantly depending on the soil and climatic conditions in which the plant is grown. Other factors, such as collection and processing methods, can also influence the composition of fatty acids.

Jojoba oil can be a great addition to your daily hair care routine. It really improves the condition of hair from roots to ends, giving it strength, shine and manageability.

Three main properties of jojoba oil for hair

  1. Dry scalp treatment.
  2. Hair growth stimulation.
  3. Restoration of damaged hair.

The use of jojoba as a moisturizer for hair and skin is its main benefit, and recent dermatological studies have confirmed this. Recent patents also include it as a main ingredient in most shampoos and conditioners, claiming to be included as an important microemulsion in hair care products. Microemulsions help carry the active ingredients in the product. Other common microemulsions are beeswax, carnauba wax, or esparto herb wax. Therefore, jojoba oil can really prevent breakage and strengthen hair. It can also be useful in treating dandruff, dry scalp and itching, and as an anti-inflammatory and moisturizer for the skin.

The oil's reputation as a direct hair growth promoter, on the other hand, is not supported by research, but if you add a few drops of peppermint essential oil (or another essential oil) to it, you can create an excellent hair growth stimulator. For this reason, you should not rely on jojoba oil alone if you are experiencing intense hair loss. However, it can be a great remedy for strengthening, silky, and shiny hair.

Marina

I love to pamper my hair with different oils while relaxing at sea. The best are jojoba, argan and coconut oils. I just put oil on my hair and go to the beach, but at the same time I always hide it from the sun under a hat. The main thing is to choose quality oil.

Zhenya

Oddly enough, I never believed in all home remedies for hair, but on the advice of a friend, I still tried jojoba oil. Once a week I do a mask with jojoba, olive and coconut oil, just mix the oils and apply them to the length of the hair. I keep it for as long as there is time and my head, then I apply a professional hair restoration mask from CHI. All together slightly improved the condition of the hair, after constant manipulation with them.

Diana

I have long discovered oils in hair care, especially after a trip to Thailand and Italy. I use them all the time in my care, I just apply them to my hair before washing, and sometimes after washing, rub a few drops between my palms and apply to the ends of the hair. I really like hemp oil, olive oil, from exotic - jojoba, camellia, shea, broccoli, mango.

Inna

Jojoba oil is the best oil for treating split ends, dry hair, especially those prone to porosity. I do different masks with oil or a hot wrap, once a week is enough to heal my hair.

Jojoba oil is not a miracle cure or a panacea for hair loss or damage. But, it can be a useful addition to your daily hair care routine.
