Sea buckthorn oil is one of the most healing vegetable oils in nature, the oil is obtained from the berries of the sea buckthorn shrub, which is very common in our area.

Sea buckthorn oil is used both internally and externally (for medicinal, cosmetic purposes), it is possible to write not only an article, but also a whole book about its properties and scope. We will talk about using sea buckthorn oil specifically for hair.

The consistency of the oil is quite thick, bright orange, even reddish in color with a rich odor, you need to store the oil in the refrigerator.

Why is sea buckthorn oil useful for hair?

Due to its unique composition, the oil is widely used in hair treatment. The oil contains vitamins, trace elements, fatty acids, carotenoids.

  1. Oil contains B vitaminswhich have a beneficial effect on strengthening the hair and improving its structure.
  2. Vitamin Crich in oil, strengthens hair, oxygenates, stimulates new hair growth by improving blood circulation.

Using sea buckthorn oil for hair

Sea buckthorn oil has an excellent strengthening and stimulating effect, therefore it is good to use it for hair loss, in complex therapy, the oil will help strengthen hair and cope with hair loss.

The regenerating properties of the oil relieve dandruff, irritation and itching of the scalp, help heal flakes and damage.

The oil is suitable for dry, brittle and damaged hair after dyeing, bleaching, after frequent use of a hair dryer, iron, curling iron.

Sea buckthorn oil is often added to industrial hair cosmetics, but it can also be used at home for hot wraps, homemade masks for hair growth and restoration.

Sea buckthorn oil is not easily washed off the hair and scalp, so it needs to be diluted with lighter oils and added to masks to accelerate hair growth.

Masks with sea buckthorn oil are best done in a course of 10-15 masks, with a frequency of 1-2 times a week.

If the hair is oily, then sea buckthorn oil should be used with caution and diluted with capsicum tincture or mustard, cinnamon.

Before adding to the mask, sea buckthorn oil should be heated in a water bath.

The mask must be prepared just before applying to the hair.

The mask with sea buckthorn oil is applied before shampooing, for 40-60 minutes, this is enough for the mask to work on the hair and scalp.

Hair loss mask with sea buckthorn oil

  • 2 tablespoons of red capsicum tincture;
  • 2 tablespoons of sea buckthorn oil;
  • 5 drops of vitamins A and E in oil;
  • 3-5 drops of bey or peppermint essential oil.

We mix all the ingredients in a glass bowl, apply the mask along the partings to the scalp, you can apply your favorite base oil, lighter than sea buckthorn, for example, olive, linseed, macadamia, argan, to the ends. We warm it with a shower cap or cellophane wrap, wrap it with a warm towel, you can wear a warm woolen hat. We keep it somewhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour (it should warm up a little and pinch). Then wash off with shampoo, preferably twice.

Mustard and sea buckthorn oil mask for hair growth

  • 2 tablespoons of mustard;
  • 2 tablespoons of warm water;
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar;
  • 2 tablespoons of sea buckthorn oil;
  • 1 yolk.

Dilute mustard powder with water until smooth and add the rest of the ingredients. The mask is applied only to the scalp from 20 minutes to 1 hour, it is advisable to warm it up. The ends of the hair should be lubricated with any base oil so as not to dry out the length. Rinse the mask thoroughly with shampoo (twice), apply a balm or mask.

Hair growth stimulating mask

  • 2 tablespoons of sea buckthorn oil;
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger (you can take raw and grate, but dry ginger warms up more);
  • 1 teaspoon of aloe juice.

The mask is done before washing your hair. Mix all ingredients and apply to scalp for 30 minutes to 1 hour. The mask needs to be insulated: wrap it with plastic wrap and insulate it with a woolen hat or warm towel.

Vitamin hair mask

  • 1 tablespoon sea buckthorn oil;
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • juice of one onion;
  • 1 yolk;
  • 2 ampoules of vitamin B1;
  • 2 ampoules of vitamin B6;
  • 2 ampoules of vitamin B12;
  • 2 ampoules of vitamin C.

We heat the sea buckthorn oil in a water bath and add the rest of the ingredients, add vitamins at the very end before applying it to the hair. We apply the mask to the hair before washing, first we apply it in partings, and the rest can be distributed along the length. It is advisable to insulate the mask and keep it for two hours. Then wash your hair as usual. To reduce the smell of onions, you can rinse your hair with lemon juice or vinegar at the end: 1-2 tablespoons per liter of water. If the hair is dry, there is practically no smell.

Sea buckthorn oil and Dimexidum mask

  • 2 tablespoons of sea buckthorn oil;
  • 1 teaspoon of Dimexide;

The mask is applied to the scalp before washing your hair. The oil can be heated in a water bath, add Dimexide and mix thoroughly, apply on the scalp along the partings, insulate and keep for 40-60 minutes, then wash your hair with two or three washes of shampoo.

Hot wrap with sea buckthorn oil

A hot wrap with sea buckthorn oil can be done if you have dry, damaged hair and be sure to dilute sea buckthorn oil with a lighter oil - olive, macadamia, camellia, almond, wheat germ, avocado, grape seed. For example, for medium length hair:

  • 1 tablespoon sea buckthorn oil;
  • 2 tablespoons of almond oil
  • 5 drops of ylang ylang essential oil.

We mix the base oils and heat in a water bath in a glass container. Hair is well combed and applied warm oil for the length of the hair, departing from the roots by cm. 15., paying special attention to the ends of the hair. Then you can put on a shower cap (cling film, plastic bag) and be sure to wrap it in a warm towel. The towel can be heated by holding it on the battery or under the iron, or you can periodically warm it up with a hairdryer. Keep it on your hair for about an hour, and then wash your hair with shampoo (2-3 times).

The wraps will be most useful if carried out once a week for 5-7 weeks. The course of procedures should be repeated every six months.
