Secrets of winter skin care

In winter, our skin needs special and gentle care more than ever. Because the absence of the sun (the complexion changes), temperature drops (it's cold outside, but it's warm in the room, plus the influence of heating devices), the negative effects of wind and frost do not affect her in the best way.

In winter, the skin loses its natural radiance and the complexion becomes dull, gray, dryness and even sensitivity often appear. How to avoid this and a few more important secrets of facial skin care in winter:

Facial cleansing

Facial skin care, at any time of the year, begins with cleansing. Cleansing is an important step in skincare that needs to be done in the morning and evening, regardless of age and skin type. Purification can be conditionally divided into two stages:

  1. Cleanser in the form of milk, cream, gel or foam
  2. Face tonic

Facial cleansing

In winter, it is important to use a gentle cleanser that does not destroy the skin's protective barrier. Avoid products that contain sulfates, alcohol, parabens.

In addition to a cleanser and tonic, you should also have a scrub or mild surface exfoliation in your arsenal that you can use at home. These products will help to more thoroughly cleanse the pores, they promote the renewal of skin cells by exfoliating the upper stratum corneum. A scrub or peeling is enough to use once a week (if the skin is sensitive, then less often).

Remember that your skin is weakened during the winter, so do not use a large amount of cleansers, this can lead to dryness, itching, flaking and wrinkles!

All cleansers are selected according to skin type!

Nourishing and moisturizing the skin of the face

Our skin always needs hydration, especially in winter, because the skin gets under the influence of heating devices that dry it out. In winter, skin moisturizing should be carried out in the evening, before going to bed, because if this stage is carried out in the morning, after leaving their home, the skin will experience severe stress. In addition to the cream, moisturizing masks can also be used as additional care.

In winter, our skin is very much in need of nourishment, and you can choose a day face cream from the nourishing series to use in the morning. The day face cream must be applied 30 minutes before leaving the house for it to be absorbed. Skin nourishment consists not only in applying a nourishing cream, but also in the use of serums and special face masks.

The face serum is an intensive product with a high concentration of active ingredients, thanks to which the serum penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin than the cream. But, these funds do not replace each other. Serums are available in different directions (they solve specific problems) and they can solve many problems with the skin if it is selected correctly. Therefore, do not neglect this stage of facial skin care, especially if you are already over 30.

Please note what should be in the formulations of creams for the winter:

  • Natural oils
  • Antioxidants
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Peptides
  • Glyceryl glucoside
  • Niaciamide
  • Seaweed

This does not mean that all these components should be in one face cream, for example, a cream with peptides would be an excellent choice. All of these components are aimed at maintaining the moisture balance of the skin, saturating it with moisture and keeping it in good condition.

Face masks

Face masks are a must in your home care. Masks are additional care that helps to cope with a number of facial skin problems, depending on the series:

  1. The mask can have a calming effect, which helps the skin to relieve stress and irritation by lowering the sensitivity threshold.
  2. Nourishing masks reduce dryness, redness and tightness of the skin, which is very important in winter.
  3. Lifting masks that increase skin elasticity.
  4. Deep cleansing masks that even out skin tone, tighten pores, and help normalize sebum production.
  5. Regenerating masks that prevent the inflammatory process of the skin.
  6. Complexion-enhancing masks that tone the skin, even out tone, give a natural shine and radiance.
  7. Moisturizing masks protect the skin from dehydration and improve the elasticity and firmness of the skin. They improve the barrier function of the skin, which is very important in winter.

Face masks

It is recommended to do face masks 2-3 times a week, you can alternate different series. Although now cosmetologists recommend applying several masks at once, for example, first cleansing, then immediately moisturizing and covering everything with a mask with a lifting effect. Or another option: apply a cleansing mask to the T-zone, a nourishing mask on the cheeks, that is, combine different masks, depending on the condition of the skin in different zones.

Nutrition of the skin from the inside

In winter, our skin needs protection from the inside, therefore:

  1. Drink as much water as possible. For some reason, for some reason, many try to adhere to the water balance only in summer, although in winter this is no less important, and for the skin as well. It is recommended to drink 30 ml of water per 1 kg of body weight per day.
  2. Include in your diet foods rich in Omega-3 and vitamins A, E, C, group B: seasonal vegetables, fruits, fish (especially mackerel), vegetable and animal oils, nuts.
  3. Consult your doctor, perhaps you still need to additionally replenish the deficiency of vitamins or trace elements in order to improve your health, which will have a positive effect on your skin condition.
  4. Humidify the air in the room, as heating devices have a detrimental effect on the skin, dry it out, make it more sensitive and prone to irritation.

All your basic home care will help prolong the youthfulness of the skin, keep it healthy and beautiful!
