Hair loss after anesthesia. How to restore hair?

There are a huge number of reasons that can cause hair loss, you can read more about it. here, and today we will talk about the relationship between anesthesia and hair loss. It does not matter whether the cause of hair loss is anesthesia or something else, it is imperative to take measures to lose hair as little as possible, preserve what is and, if possible, return to its former density, because hair is an indicator of the health of our body. Naturally, you need to approach this comprehensively and not be lazy, draw up a specific action plan and follow it.

Hair loss after anesthesia

Why hair falls out after anesthesia

After anesthesia, more than 50% of patients complain of increased hair loss, both from women and men. Why is this happening, let's figure it out.

The anesthesia itself and the drugs that are included in the anesthesia do not lead to hair loss and are not the cause of hair thinning or alopecia. Then why does everyone complain about hair loss after anesthesia?

Why hair falls out after anesthesia

Anesthesia is stress for the body, both physical and emotional, because for many, the experiences associated with waiting for the operation are a strong emotional stress (from my own experience I can say that this is a very strong emotional stress). Also, the surgical intervention itself is a significant physical stress. The more in scope and duration the operation, the more stress the body is exposed to. Stress leads to the failure of the hair growth stages, that is, the hair from the growth stage goes abruptly into the resting stage and eventually falls out. But the follicle itself remains viable and after a while a new hair appears, that is, hair growth is fully restored, this takes a lot of time, sometimes more than a year.

And so, stress is the main root cause of hair loss after anesthesia. But, that's not all, the second reason is the peculiarity of the surgical intervention itself. Because during some operations there is a lot of blood loss, a significant decrease in blood pressure and blood suddenly stops flowing to the hair follicles. And even when the blood flow is restored, it is all directed to the vital organs (brain, heart, liver), and in the very last turn, the hair suffers from this and immediately passes from the growth phase to the resting phase.

And the third reason is taking certain medications (antibiotics, antiulcer drugs, antineoplastic, anticoagulants). As a rule, after the end of the medication, hair loss returns to normal.

We figured out why hair falls out after anesthesia, and now let's figure out what to do and how to treat such hair loss.

What to do if hair falls out after anesthesia

The first thing to do is to protect your body from stress. After all, stress leads to hair loss, and hair loss leads to even more stress and a vicious circle is created that only you can break. If you can't cope on your own, buy herbal sedatives and drink for at least a month (consult a neurologist).

What to do if hair falls out after anesthesia

Hair loss treatment is a complex and lengthy process in which you need to work in three areas:

  1. Restore the body from the inside.
  2. Normalize hair loss.
  3. Take a course aimed at stimulating hair growth.

Let's delve a little into these directions ...

Restore the body from the inside

After the operation, I had moral and physical exhaustion, my immunity completely disappeared, I was ill for about six months (angina, bronchitis, sinusitis, which I have never had for 29 years, and again angina).Therefore, do not wait for hair to begin to fall out after the operation, take action immediately (although if you are looking for information about "hair loss after anesthesia", it is likely that you have already started).

Restore the body, primarily from the inside. Replenish iron deficiency (especially important after surgery), how iron deficiency affects hair loss can be read here... Andmagnesium, calcium, zinc and other minerals, vitamins, especially of group B, and unforgettable about vitamins A, E, C, omega-3 fatty acids. To find out which vitamins and microelements the hair lacks, you need to take special tests, which are directed by a trichologist or dermatologist.

It will not be superfluous to drink complex vitamins for hair, now the pharmacy has a large selection (Perfectil, Biona, Revalid, Merz Special Dragee, Pantovigar).

Include more protein in the menu, because protein is the main building material for hair, and of course, eat seasonal vegetables and fruits. A daily and uncomplicated menu for a week is described in the article Hair diet (menu for the week).

I will also share with you a recipe for hair vitamins from natural products, which was given to me by a trichologist. The uniqueness of these vitamins lies in the fact that they raise immunity in just a week, endow the body with all the necessary vitamins, micro and macro elements.

Homemade vitamins for hair

Take all the ingredients, grind, place in the refrigerator and eat one tablespoon twice a day. Step-by-step instructions with a photo of how to make these vitamins can be found in the article Hair vitamins (according to the trichologist's prescription)... I make these vitamins for the whole family and we eat them in autumn and spring, they are very tasty, healthy and natural.

  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 glass of hazelnuts;
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 1 cup white raisins
  • 1 glass of dried apricots;
  • 1/2 cup figs
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • juice of 1 lemon;
  • honey.

And finally, I will say about the importance of physical activity, even an elementary exercise, a walk in the fresh air improves blood circulation, which in turn improves hair nutrition, because our hair receives all the beneficial substances along with the blood that goes to the hair follicles, therefore it is important to eat balanced , nourish the body with vitamins.

How to normalize hair loss

Normalize hair loss

In addition to restoring the body from the inside, you also need to take external measures to normalize hair loss:

  1. Choose a gentle, sulfate-free or special shampoo for hair loss. In addition, you should also have a deep cleansing shampoo or scrub, because the scalp and hair need deep cleansing, just like the skin of the face. After such a shampoo, all the nutrients of anti-hair loss serums will work much better. But, this shampoo is used no more than once a week, or even less often.
  2. Also take a course of hair strengthening with serums or lotions for hair loss. These are concentrated products that are rubbed into the scalp for a course of 1-3 months. They give very good results in the complex treatment of hair loss.
  3. Comb your hair and massage daily. The massage improves blood circulation and nourishment of the hair roots, five minutes a day is enough for this, you can still do a massage with essential oilsthat stimulate hair growth (orange, lemon, rosemary and others). There are many videos on how to properly massage the scalp to maximize the benefits for the hair.
  4. Take care of the length of your hair, always apply a mask, conditioner or balm after washing. Choose nourishing, regenerating and moisturizing series. Do not forget about leave-in products, oils, fluids and leave-in creams have proven themselves very well, they take care of the ends of the hair, give them a well-groomed look, smooth the cuticle of the hair, give it softness and shine.
  5. Minimize the use of a hair dryer, iron and styling products (foam, varnish) to reduce hair injury.Always use thermal protection before blow drying. Also, do not dry your hair with too hot air and very close to the hair, you can dry your hair by about 80%, and then let it dry naturally.
  6. Special treatments for hair strengthening. Today, one of the best methods for treating hair loss is plasma lifting - this is the injection of plasma of one's own blood into the scalp, in a course of 4-10 procedures. For a detailed review of plasmolifting read here... The next method is mesotherapy - injection of active substances directly into the skin. The substances restore blood supply and nourish the hair roots with the necessary substances, the cocktail is selected individually for each patient, the course is 10-12 procedures. Ozone therapy - is carried out by injection using the finest needles directly into the scalp. To achieve the result, you need to complete the entire course that the specialist will appoint for you. On average, patients are prescribed 10 procedures, the frequency depends on the condition of the hair and the desired result. After three or four sessions, the first results are already noticeable.

Course for hair growth stimulation

In addition to reducing hair loss, you need to focus your efforts on stimulating hair growth. Almost all hair loss remedies are aimed at stimulating hair growth, so it will be easier to work in this direction. You can just add homemade masks to stimulate hair growth, which we will burn about below.

Hair restoration after anesthesia

Hair restoration is a long process, so be patient and do not expect results in less than 8-12 months.

It is necessary to take not only internal drugs, but also physiotherapeutic effects (head massages, mesotherapy, plasma lifting), and external therapy in the form of specially selected restorative agents to strengthen hair (shampoos, masks, serums, lotions).

If you follow all the recommendations that we discussed above and add more homemade masks to strengthen and stimulate hair growth, then you will restore your hair after anesthesia and restore its density.

just add homemade masks to stimulate hair growth, which we will burn about below. Hair restoration after anesthesia

Most masks for fast hair growth are based on ingredients that irritate the scalp. That is, the mask causes blood flow to the scalp, and already with the blood all nutrients (vitamins, minerals, trace elements) get to the hair follicles and nourish them with everything they need.

Firming mask

  • 2 tablespoons of capsicum tincture;
  • 1 tablespoon castor oil or mustard oil
  • 5 drops of bey essential oil.

The mask is applied to dry hair before washing. Heat castor oil in a water bath, add pepper tincture and essential oil to it. Apply the mask to the scalp along the partings (try not to get the mask on the length of the hair, the tincture dries the hair very much), insulate and leave for 40 minutes to 1 hour. Then wash your hair as usual, the mask can be done 1-2 times a week, a course - 10 masks.

Hair growth mask

  • 2-3 ampoules of nicotinic acid;
  • 2-3 ampoules of aloe extract;
  • 1 teaspoon of propolis tincture.

The mask is applied to the scalp along the partings before washing the hair, it is important that there are no styling products (varnish, foam) on the hair. The mask can be applied with an eyedropper or a hair dye brush. After applying the mask, we massage in circular motions for about five minutes, then we insulate well and hold for one hour. And wash my head as usual.

Mask for intense hair loss

  • 1 ampoule of Essentiale (sold at the pharmacy);
  • 1 tablet of asparkam;
  • 1 teaspoon of Dimexide;
  • 1 spoonful of sour cream;
  • 1 yolk.

Beat the egg, add sour cream, then crush the asparkam tablet and add to the mixture, at the end add the Essentiale and Dimexide ampoule, stir well and immediately apply to the scalp along the partings (1-2 cm). The mask must be insulated (with plastic wrap and a warm hat or towel). We hold the mask for 40-60 minutes and wash my head as usual, you can do it once or twice a week, with a course of 8-10 masks.

You should not wait for the effect immediately after the first mask, you must definitely take a course of masks in order to evaluate the result from a particular mask.

More recipes for masks to strengthen and stimulate hair growth can be found in this article.

conclusions

An integrated approach is needed to treat hair loss after anesthesia, firstly, you need to treat hair loss at the local level, that is, rub in various firming serums, lotions, masks and other means. Secondly, you need to restore the body from the inside (vitamin and mineral complexes, medicinal preparations) and at the same time stimulate growth.

    Anesthesia has a detrimental effect on the entire body, and hair suffers the most, because it is an indicator of women's health. After anesthesia, my immunity dropped dramatically, I was constantly ill, and I’m not talking about hair at all, less than half remained. Now I am trying to restore them ... And you correctly write that you must first restore the body from the inside, and then everything else will work out! It's a shame that I just lost so much time, I could save more hair. Thanks for the advice.
